Three Tactics to Move More
Sitting in front of a computer for hours on end poses a number of health risks: weight gain, changes to blood flow, back pain, decreased flexibility, depression, and even chronic health issues like heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancer.

The easiest way to battle a sedentary lifestyle or work environment is to move more. Sometimes that is easier said than done, so here are three tips to get you up and moving.

- Add a short walk as part of your breakfast, lunch, and dinner routine so that it becomes a habit, just like your morning coffee.
- Set a timer for every 45 minutes you are at your desk as a reminder to step away and do stretches, walk the dog, or tackle a quick chore.
- Enlist the support of friends. You’ll be doing a favor for everyone by scheduling a stroll through the park a few times a week, plotting sessions at the beach, or taking on a new challenge as a group such as preparing for a 5K or enrolling in a yoga class.
